An item on ITV Meridian local news raised awareness of the dangers of drinking when pregnant. Reporter Stacey Poole interviewed a birth mum, Tracey, detailing the problems experienced by her son, who has FAS. Stacey then went on to report that he is not the only child affected by this syndrome and the report then featured Simon & Julia Brown and their adopted daughter. The work of The Trust was also highlighted and the helpline number was given out at the end of the report.
Since then, ITV Meridian / Thames Valley featured our balloon release on their Local Events segment on Monday 10 September 2007.
The Oxford Times and The Oxford Mail both featured a piece on The FASD Trust and its work, as well as the focusing on the potential dangers of consuming alcohol during pregnancy. Our thanks to Debbie Waite, Writer, and Derek Holmes, Editor of the papers.
Two articles by Amanda Williams have now appeared in the Oxford Journal highlighting the dangers of drinking when pregnant, as well detailing the problems experienced by those with FASD. The first article featured the work of The FASD Trust, its support groups and ended by giving the helpline number. The second article was in response to the Government's change of guidelines to pregnant woman not to drink any alcohol at all. It again detailed the work of The Trust and our support for this new guidance.
