We released 770 balloons on Sunday 9th September 2007.
The first 70 were let off at 9am in Ashurst Beacon Country Park by our sister organisation FAS Aware UK. For more details, please contact them directly or see their website, www.fasaware.co.uk.
Here in Oxfordsire, we released 700 balloons, marking the 700 babies who could have been born last year in the UK with FAS (1 in 1000). Wesley Smith, ITV Meridian Presenter and Amanda Williams from The Oxford Journal kindly released the balloons for us.
We asked people to sponsor a balloon and we were amazed when several reached France, but the "winner" reached Spain! Vouchers are on their way to Julie from Warrington, the sponsor of our winning balloon.

Also, as 9th September fell on a Sunday this year, we asked people in church to pray, taking a few moments to remember those with FASD and their parents, families and carers.
